One of Surrey’s oldest and most historic pubs on Ripley High Street and holder of a Michelin Bib Gourmand, The Anchor has held 2 coveted AA Rosettes since opening in 2013, and is the only pub in Surrey mentioned in The Good Food Guide as well as winning Surrey Life Magazine's Restaurant of the Year in 2017.
Head chef Mike Wall-Palmer has gained a sterling reputation for using local and regional produce to create dishes where flavour, taste and simplicity are the focus. Inspired by the seasons and reflecting the produce available, the Ripley Anchor menus change monthly.
From the bar, the signature Timothy Taylor ale is joined by a selection of guest ales and a wine list designed to suit all tastes. Every month a choice of wines are showcased to match the seasonal menu.

Four of us came for lunch and we all commented on how delicious our food was. Service too was excellent including Covid precautions. We were given a table in a separate room and stayed happily chatting for 2-3 hours

The Anchor is a local gem, the staff are lovely and the food is exceptional, with great wine choices, we love going there.

Relatively new management, venue remains vintage and fairly relaxed. We dined a la carte and enjoyed quirky yet well assembled dishes - who'd have put chicken gravy with hake? Don't be cynical until you've tried it! Staff friendly but could do with a little more knowledge about what they are serving so they can answer any questions, or just ask someone who can help.
