A former 18th century watering hole for thirsty village workers, The Bay Horse champions time-honoured British fare from an accomplished menu. Boasting fluffy rugs, chunky oak beams and an attractive beer garden, The Bay Horse in West Yorkshire is both charming and snug.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Bay Horse menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Bay Horse ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Bay Horse in Snaygill is a 6-minute drive from Skipton Rail Station, and borders the winding Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Give u a clue. We are regulars. To the extent that 1 of the waitresses knows not only which bottle of wine we drink, but our usual meals! Arleta, absolutely top class.

We expected the restaurant to be busy and had booked our table because of this. WE also have dined here many times and have always had a positive experience etc. However, the restaurant was busy, as expected, but there was a distinct lack of personal to ensure our needs were being met. The 3 people who served us were extremel;y busy and at times aopoeared tio be aimless. When we spoke to one of them, we were informed that the "system" that identified the previous years trading, had predicted a quieter day to be exp[ected and therefore key personell were absent. The standard menu was restriceted as they had "run out" of some dishes, and the daily specials menu was absent, but we were verbally informed of 3 dishes that were available, but not on a menu any where ( or so it aopoeared). THis would account for the information given to us on arrival that the Chicken oie, (main menu), Lamd Koftas (main menu) and the halibut and sea bass ( not on any menu we saw) had sold out. Also, because of the lack of staff, the bar area wa for a l;rge part of the time we were there, covered in dirty glasses etc. If we had never visited the restaurant before, we would have been disp[pointed with the scene that greeted us on arrival. Our overall ratings, are made in the knowledge that the staff were under pressure from what appears to be no fault of thier own, however, every business should have a back up plan, and in this case should have been the ability to call on extra staff as and when required This said, the food we ordered and recieved was as good as usual and as we expected. The service was good, even though the staff were run off thier feet and it does not detract from our intention to eat there again.

Although the staff were very busy, my party was made to feel very welcome. We were given time to peruse the menu before ordering. Staff were friendly.
